長安一片月，
萬戶擣衣聲。
秋風吹不盡，
總是玉關情。
何日平胡虜，
良人罷遠征。

Beneath the light of the crescent moon,
While the washerman's bâton resounds in every house,
How gently blows the autumn breeze!—
But my heart is away in Kansuh,
Longing for the defeat of the Tartars
And the return of my husband from the wars.
